Biography

Jose M. Alcaraz Calero receives his BSc, MSc and PhD in Computer Science at University of Murcia together with an “Honourable Mention to the Academic Excellence” and the best PhD award. Afterward, he is appointed from the Distinguished Computer Science Association as member of the Official Forensic Science.

Jose M. Alcaraz Calero has published several articles in world-wide well recognized journals and magazines in Computer Science such as IEEE Communication MagazineIEEE Internet ComputingIEEE Security & PrivacyFuture Generation Computer System, and IET Information Security, among others. Moreover, he also has a significant number of conference publications.

In the last years, he has been Reviewer for journals, magazines and Technical Program Committee member (TPC) for international conferences more than 60 times around the world covering Europe, USA, Asia, Africa and Australia.

Jose M. Alcaraz Calero is Editorial Board Member of the IET Wireless Sensor SystemsAdvances in Network and CommunicationsCiber Journals: Multidisciplinary Journals in Science and Technology and Journal of Trust Management in Computing and Communications.

He is also Organizing Committee member in diverse International Conferences such as IEEE TrustCom 2011,  ATC 2011IET WSS 2012ICGCN 2012, among others.

Jose M. Alcaraz Calero is research member in several international projects financed by the European Commission such as SWIFTPOSITIF and SEMIRAMIS, financed by private institutions like HP and SAES and by national institution such as “Analysis, Study and Development of Intelligent Systems and Network Services” and SEISCIENTOS.

Currently, Jose M. Alcaraz Calero is research fellow at Cloud and Security Lab, Hewlett Packard Laboratories, Bristol, UK while he is also research member at  Intelligent System Lab at Universitiry of Murcia, Murcia, SP.  His main research interests includes:

  • Communications and Data Security in large-scale Distributed and Federated Architectures, including among others Authentication, Access Control, Trust and Privacy.
  • Large-scale Data Center Management, including among others, Cloud Computing & Virtualization, Green Computing and Autonomic Computing.
  • Knowledge Representation and Distributed Processing, including among others, Policy-based System, Semantic Web, Natural Language Processing and Corpus-based Processing.
  • Distributed Sensing Devices and Wireless Sensor Networks, including among others, Architecture, Networking, Security, Mobility, Practice and Applications.
